Benalla Run (saturday 28th. & sunday 29th. April 2018)

Last weekend we went to the Benalla run organised by our local Benalla-ite Jeff Wilson.

We left home Saturday morning and met up with the rest of the gang at The Shed around lunch time for some wood-fired pizzas and refreshments.

After lunch we walked around town admiring the Street Art decorating many of the city’s walls, some were over three stories high and very impressive.

We regrouped at The Shed for a cuppa then Jeff handed out the question sheets for the observation run and after navigating the back roads of the area around an hour later we arrived at Baileys of Glenrowan.

There was a variety of wines to taste and the cellarmaster was able to tell the non-connoisseurs among us the finer details of what we were sampling.

After some had made their expensive purchases and enjoyed the sunshine we headed back to Benalla to get ready for an evening at the local Golf Club. It was a great night and after being fed and having a ‘few’ refreshing drinks and some stimulating conversation we called it a night and returned to our respective places of abode.

On Sunday morning we packed up and went to the Wilsons where Jeff and Kaylene had prepared a gourmet breakfast for us. After a fantastic brekkie Jeff gave us boys a shed tour, the ‘58 Apache is coming along nicely and the 1922 T-Model tourer was a hit especially with those who went for a burn around the block in it.

Sadly it was time to say our good-byes and hit the road. A big thank-you to Jeff and Kaylene for organising a great week-end and to the members who attended. It would have been good if a few more members could have made an effort to be there but those of us who did had a great time!
